Ness M1 Integrated Security & Automation Platform

Overview

A professional security and automation platform designed for projects requiring integrated control beyond a standard alarm system.

The Ness M1 supports layered security, access monitoring and automation within a single programmable platform. Depending on the kit selected, supported features can be enabled after programming.

Ideally implemented during construction for clean cable routing, structured integration and long-term scalability.

Designed to support long-term property value protection.

Ness M1 — System Architecture & Capability

Overview

The Ness M1 supports a structured, layered approach to detection, alerts and automation. All detectors and monitored access points can be configured to trigger different outcomes depending on operating modes and project requirements.

Capabilities described below are available when the relevant devices are included in the selected system and configured during programming.

Lighting & Automation

Where lighting control interface devices are included, the system can support:

  • Remote control of connected lighting via mobile app
  • Automated “occupied simulation” when armed in Away Mode
  • Lighting schedules based on time or sunset events
  • Automatic lighting shut-off based on programmed rules
  • Integration with selected lighting control platforms

Automation Disclaimer: Automation behaviour depends on installed devices, programming and external integrations. Automated responses may vary and must be tested during commissioning. Automation features are not a substitute for life-safety systems.

Access Control & Monitoring

Where access interfaces and monitoring devices are included, the system can support:

  • Pedestrian gate control
  • Vehicle gate trigger control
  • Garage door trigger control
  • Monitoring of doors, gates and access points
  • Status-based alerts for access devices

Left-open alerts can be configured so monitored doors or gates generate notifications when left open beyond a preset time.

Access Automation Safety Disclaimer: Automated control of gates, doors and garage systems must be installed with appropriate safety devices and in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Users must ensure the area is clear before triggering movement.

Detection Architecture

The Ness M1 supports a layered detection approach combining intrusion sensors and monitored access points.

Flexible trigger logic allows configured devices to initiate:

  • Full alarm activation
  • Voice alert only
  • Lighting response only
  • Any combination of alarm, voice and lighting actions

Detection behaviour can vary by system mode (Stay, Away, Night, custom modes).

Detection Disclaimer: Detection devices are designed to reduce risk but cannot guarantee prevention of all events. Performance may be affected by installation conditions, environment and maintenance.

Voice Alert System

Where voice speakers are included, the system can support:

  • Indoor occupant alerts
  • Outdoor deterrent announcements
  • Event-based voice messages
  • Mode-based announcements
  • Access or detection triggered voice alerts

Voice alerts can be used as an early deterrent layer prior to full alarm escalation.

Voice announcements are configurable deterrent and notification features. Volume, audibility and effectiveness depend on speaker placement, environment and configuration.

Smart Camera Event Integration

Selected smart security cameras can be integrated to provide an additional detection layer.

Where supported cameras are included and configured, smart events can:

  • Generate notifications
  • Trigger lighting
  • Trigger voice announcements
  • Escalate to alarm conditions

Advanced camera analytics such as face recognition or ANPR can be configured to automate access events, lighting or alerts where applicable and legally appropriate.

Automation & AI Trigger Disclaimer: Camera analytics and automation triggers depend on configuration, environment and detection reliability. These features are assistive only and must not be relied upon as a sole security or safety measure.

Privacy Notice: Where facial recognition or number plate recognition is enabled, operation must comply with applicable privacy legislation and signage requirements.

Mobile App Control

Where the mobile app interface module is included, users may be able to:

  • Arm and disarm remotely
  • Receive system notifications
  • Control connected lighting
  • Trigger gates and garage doors
  • View system status

Available functionality depends on installed modules and configuration.

System Supply & Programming (Pricing Context)

CustomLink systems are supplied pre-configured where applicable.

Programming may include:

  • Pre-configuration prior to dispatch
  • Initial rule setup
  • Operational mode configuration
  • Lifestyle-based fine-tuning

Additional customisation can be provided where required.

Remote Programming Disclaimer: Remote configuration and support depend on site connectivity, installed modules and third-party services. Some adjustments may require on-site attendance.

Installation & Compliance

All 240V electrical work must be completed by a licensed electrician in accordance with Australian standards.

CustomLink can provide guidance on:

  • System architecture
  • Wiring layout and best practices
  • Detector positioning
  • Access monitoring device placement
  • Voice speaker positioning
  • Camera integration planning

Final installation and electrical connections must be completed by appropriately qualified trades.

Optional Support
