SECURITY & AUTOMATION — DETECTION FUNCTION CHECKLIST

Start With What You Need Now. Expand for What's Possible Later.

Before deciding how your Security & Automation system should respond, it's important to understand what it can detect or monitor.

Detection can include indoor and outdoor movement, restricted areas, intelligent cameras, abnormal heat, water conditions and events from other connected equipment.

Review the functions below and select what you may need now, what you might want later or what you don't need.

You don't have to make every decision today.

After submitting this checklist, you will receive a copy of your selections by email for your records. You can review it with family members, business partners or your installer before deciding what to do next.

There is no obligation to purchase or request a quotation.

INDOOR DETECTION

**A05 — Photoelectric Beam Detection** Detect when someone or something crosses a monitored beam at an entrance, passage or property boundary.

Need Now Need Later Not Needed

**A06 — Outdoor Multi-Layer Detection** Use multiple detectors across different areas of the property to detect activity as someone moves from one monitored area to another. For example, detection at the property boundary, further inside the property and near the building can provide several opportunities for early warning before an intruder enters. Different detection technologies can be combined according to the property's layout and protection requirements.
