CustomLink Expertise, Wherever You Are

CustomLink provides full security and automation installation across Brisbane. We can also supply and support customers Australia-wide who prefer to use their own security installer or electrical contractor for a new system or upgrade.

From straightforward systems to highly integrated solutions, CustomLink can help with system planning, product selection, Pre-Configuration Before Dispatch and remote technical support throughout the project.

Your contractor completes the physical installation, while CustomLink supports you and your contractor—from device positioning and installation guidance through to configuration, programming, walk testing, troubleshooting and user training—by phone, app or remote connection, almost as if we were there on site.

After completion, Free Standard Remote Support for CustomLink-supplied systems continues for the life of the product.

The goal is the same: a properly selected, prepared and supported system. The main difference is that your local contractor completes the physical installation.

Is This Pathway Suitable for You?

This pathway may suit you if you:

  • Have a Security Installer or Electrical Contractor
  • Need a New System or an Upgrade, From Straightforward to Highly Integrated
  • Want CustomLink to Plan, Supply and Prepare the System
  • Want Technical Support Available for You and Your Contractor

How the Process Works

Step 1 — Tell Us About the Project

Tell us about the property, required functions, existing system, budget and timeframe.

Tell us what you want to protect, control or improve.

Include details such as:

Property Type • Required Functions • Existing Equipment • Approximate Budget • Expected Timeframe

You do not need to know the exact products or final system design.

CustomLink can assess your requirements and recommend a suitable system, as we would when preparing a full supply and installation package in Brisbane.

Step 2 — Receive an Initial Estimate

See the approximate project cost before detailed planning begins.

CustomLink prepares an initial estimate based on the system and installation approach we would normally recommend for a fully supplied and installed project in Brisbane.

This lets you see the likely project cost before involving your contractor or moving into detailed planning.

If the estimate suits your budget and expectations, we can move to the next stage.

Step 3 — CustomLink Speaks With Your Contractor

We discuss the project with your contractor before preparing the final proposal.

CustomLink can discuss the project directly with your security installer or electrical contractor.

We establish:

Installation Experience • Work They Will Complete • Products or Materials They Will Supply • Technical Support Required

This allows CustomLink to shape the final proposal around what your contractor can complete and the products and technical support you will need.

Step 4 — Receive the Project Proposal

Review the proposed system, CustomLink services and work completed by your contractor.

CustomLink prepares a proposal for the products and technical services we will provide.

This can include:

System Design • Products • Pre-Configuration • Installation Information • Remote Technical Support

The proposal can include all required products or only the products and services supplied by CustomLink.

It can also take into account:

  • Suitable existing products or systems;
  • Products and materials supplied by your contractor;
  • Specialist products supplied by CustomLink;
  • Physical installation completed and quoted separately by your contractor.

Your contractor may supply cabling, enclosures, power supplies, relays or other site-specific products and materials.

The proposal clearly separates the products and technical services provided by CustomLink from the physical installation completed by your contractor.

Step 5 — CustomLink Supplies and Prepares the System

The agreed equipment is supplied and pre-configured before dispatch.

Once the proposal is approved, CustomLink supplies and pre-configures the agreed equipment before dispatch.

Pre-Configuration can include:

Device Configuration • Recommended Settings • Core-Function Testing • Mobile App Setup Where Supported

Settings that depend on the final device position or site conditions are completed or adjusted after installation, so the system can be set up for how it will actually operate at the property.

Examples include:

Camera Detection Areas • Alarm Operation • Network Settings • Automation Behaviour • System Integration

Step 6 — Your Contractor Completes the Physical Installation

Your contractor completes the agreed work at the property.

Your security installer or electrical contractor completes the agreed physical installation.

This can include:

Mounting • Cabling • Termination • Equipment Connection • Electrical Work

Your contractor is responsible for the physical installation and workmanship.

Step 7 — CustomLink Supports You and Your Contractor

CustomLink supports the agreed technical stages during installation, testing and handover.

Your contractor can focus on the physical installation while CustomLink supports you and your contractor with the agreed technical work.

CustomLink can support you and your contractor through the stages included in the proposal, including:

Device Positioning • Installation Guidance • Configuration • Programming • Walk Testing • Troubleshooting • User Training

The proposal shows the technical work and support time included for the project. Further remote technical support can be added if required.

Clear Project Responsibilities

Who Is Responsible for What?

CustomLink supports the products and technical system. Your contractor completes and takes responsibility for the physical installation and workmanship.

CustomLink

CustomLink provides the products and technical services included in the proposal, such as:

Your Contractor

Your security installer or electrical contractor is responsible for:

Mounting • Cabling • Termination • Equipment Connection • Electrical Work • Physical Installation • Workmanship

If physical inspection or adjustment is needed, your installer returns to the site while CustomLink continues supporting you and your installer remotely.

Support After Completion

Support Continues After Installation

Free Standard Remote Support for CustomLink-supplied systems continues for the life of the product.

Ongoing support includes help with:

Mobile App Support • System Use • Configuration Changes • Troubleshooting • Upgrade Guidance

Additional technical services such as configuration, programming, integration, testing or training can also be arranged when needed.

Contact Details

---

Please describe the property and its current stage. Include whether it is a house, townhouse, apartment, retail premises, office, warehouse, industrial site, medical premises, multi-tenant property or another type of property. Also include whether it is existing, under construction or being renovated, the number of storeys, approximate size, general layout and how the property is used.

---

A budget between $5,000 and $10,000 is generally suited to a basic security system with limited automation or integration. It may also suit customers who want to start with the most important security functions, prepare for future expansion, or stage the project over time as their needs and budget develop. CustomLink can prepare the initial estimate around current priorities while allowing for future expansion where practical.

CustomLink supplies, installs, configures and commissions suitable systems within the Brisbane service area.

CustomLink prepares compatible equipment before dispatch, including supported device configuration, mobile app setup where supported and testing core functions before shipping. Site-dependent settings and final installation work may still be required after delivery.

CustomLink prepares compatible equipment before dispatch and provides paid Deep Dive Remote Support for advanced setup, programming, installation guidance, walk testing, user training or troubleshooting.

CustomLink supplies the selected products without installation or pre-configuration unless separately requested.

A Security & Automation System can provide different alerts, notifications, reporting and programmed responses depending on the equipment selected and how the system is configured.

Available responses may include:

● Voice alerts
● Mobile app notifications
● Email notifications
● Alarm activation
● Reporting to a 24-hour monitoring centre where required
● Lighting control
● Operation of selected doors, gates or motors
● Displaying relevant cameras
● Other programmed actions

---

Voice Alerts

Voice alerts are spoken announcements triggered by system events, status changes, commands or programmed responses.

They may be triggered by detection from compatible devices, the status of integrated equipment, lighting status, operation of a gate or motor, a command to unlock a door, or a signal received from another connected system or device.

The messages can tell occupants, staff or authorised people what is happening, provide reminders or warnings, confirm that an action has occurred, and help deter unwanted activity.

Speakers can be installed in selected indoor or outdoor locations. All enabled voice speakers play the same message.

---

Preparing Your Initial Estimate

The following steps ask for approximate quantities and the main functions you may require for detection, CCTV, lighting, intercom, access control, motorised gates, doors and other integrated equipment.

The information provided in the following steps will be used to prepare an initial estimate.

Further discussion and confirmation of the final equipment types, positions, functions and programmed responses will only be required if you decide to proceed beyond the initial estimate.

Please provide approximate quantities for the areas, doors and gates where detection may be required.

Detection may be used to trigger an alarm, voice alert, lighting, notification, operation of selected doors, gates or motors, or another programmed response.

---

---

Different detectors can perform different functions. Not every detector needs to trigger the same response.

---

---

Please enter the approximate number of cameras required for each detection feature.

Different cameras may provide different detection and response functions.

---

---

---

Camera detection can trigger one or more of the alerts, notifications and programmed responses introduced in Step 2.

Different cameras and detection areas can trigger different responses.

---

---

Please provide available lighting-system details and select the lighting functions you may require.

Existing C-Bus lighting can be integrated where compatible. Conventional light switches may also be integrated using suitable hardware.

Selected detectors can operate selected lights while sensor-light mode is enabled.

Sensor-light mode can be enabled automatically by schedule, system mode, programmed response or command. Different detectors can be enabled at different times—for example, selected detectors after sunset, additional detectors during night-time residential use, or different detector groups during retail trading hours, after-hours operation or business closing procedures.

---

---

Please provide the approximate number of outdoor and indoor intercom stations required.

Intercom events can also trigger selected alerts, notifications and programmed responses introduced in Step 2.

---

When the intercom is pressed, the system can turn selected lights on or trigger other programmed responses.

---

---

Access control manages who can enter selected doors, gates or areas and when access is permitted.

Authorised access may use a PIN, card or fob, mobile credential, facial recognition or number plate recognition.

Access events can also trigger selected alerts, notifications, lighting and other programmed responses introduced in Step 2.

---

Please provide the approximate quantity required for each access method. Different doors, gates, users or areas may use different access methods.

---

---

---

Different users, doors, gates and areas can have different permissions, schedules and programmed responses.

---

---

Please provide the approximate quantity of motorised gates, motorised garage doors or other motorised doors, and electric-lock doors or gates to be included or integrated.

These devices can work with access control, intercoms, detectors, cameras, lighting and other system functions.

---

---

Unlocking, opening, closing or leaving a gate or door open can trigger selected alerts, notifications, lighting and other programmed responses introduced in Step 2.

Different gates and doors can have different responses.

---

Please specify the equipment you want CustomLink to include in the supply.

For electric locks, include the type of door and the type of electric lock if known.

For gate motors, include whether the gate is a swing gate or sliding gate.
