Important Setup Information

Mobile app setup and PC software installation are included only where specified.

These setup tasks must be completed on the installation site before completion of the project. Additional charges may apply if CustomLink is required to return after project completion or attend another site unless otherwise specified in writing.

The Ness M1 mobile app requires a third-party app subscription (approximately $30/year), payable directly through the app store.

Functions & Features

All indoor and outdoor detectors, including those for gates and garage doors, can be programmed to trigger one or more responses, including:

• Full alarm activation
• Voice alert only
• Lighting response only
• Combined alarm, voice alert, lighting response and other programmed functions

Different responses can be programmed for different detectors, times of day and system modes. All functions can be scheduled, automated and controlled through the mobile app and keypads where supported.

Alarm Functions

The system can be armed in different modes, such as Away, Stay and Night, depending on how the home is being used.

When an alarm occurs, the system can be programmed to trigger:

• Internal sirens
• External sirens
• Mobile app notifications
• Selected lights after sunset
• Voice alerts in selected areas
• Different responses for different detectors or areas

The system can also be configured for automatic arming and disarming. Voice alerts, lighting responses and alarm functions can work together based on schedules, system modes and time of day.

For example, an outdoor detector can be programmed to play a voice alert and turn on selected lights in the evening. At night, one detector may trigger voice alert only, while two or more detectors triggered within a set time can escalate the system to activate sirens and send alarm notifications.

Voice Alert Functions

Voice alerts are spoken messages played locally through the voice speakers installed around the property.

Speakers can be scheduled to turn on and off automatically, or selected areas can be manually enabled, disabled or muted where programmed.

Voice alerts can be used as an early warning or deterrent layer before full alarm escalation.

Each detector can be programmed to play a voice alert when movement or intrusion is detected.

Garage door and gate detectors can announce whether the door or gate is open or closed, without needing to physically check the door or gate.

Lighting Functions

All sensors can be programmed to act like sensor lights by turning on one or more selected lights when movement is detected.

This is useful for convenience, but also helps with security deterrence by lighting up selected areas when activity is detected.

Selected sensors can be scheduled to work in sensor light mode automatically after sunset, at bedtime, or during other programmed times.

These schedules can be adjusted by the user where programmed.

Other Functions

The system can periodically check selected doors and gates, then play a reminder if they are left open.

Where suitable equipment is installed, selected doors or gates can also be programmed to close automatically.

Detectors can be used to monitor children entering restricted or unwanted areas and provide a voice alert, notification or alarm response.

The system can also be programmed to send a notification or play a voice alert if no movement is detected for a set period of time. This can be useful for checking on elderly or vulnerable occupants.

Many of these functions can be combined with alarm, voice alert, lighting and automation functions to suit different times of the day and different situations.

Voice announcement performance depends on speaker placement, the surrounding environment and system configuration.

Open or close motorised blinds curtains at schedule time or sensing of temperature or light level which requries specialised detector and are not included in this package.

Mobile App Control

Where supported, the mobile app can be used to:

• Arm and disarm the system remotely
• Receive alarm and system notifications
• Control connected lighting
• Trigger gates and garage doors
• View system status

A Ness M1 mobile app subscription may be required and is payable directly through the app store.

Typical Installation Scope

The advertised price is based on an existing single-storey brick veneer home within approximately 30 minutes' drive of the CustomLink office in Forest Lake.

The advertised price generally assumes:

Cabling installed through accessible wall cavities and roof spaces where practical.
Cabling is not included below wall noggings unless the wall has an accessible external cavity.
Roof tiles may be lifted where required for access. While reasonable care is taken, some tiles may crack during access. CustomLink is not responsible for supplying replacement tiles but may refit customer-supplied spare tiles or seal cracked tiles with suitable silicone where practical.
Tin roofs are not opened for access.
Conduit installation to the pedestrian and vehicle gates is included. Other conduit work is not included unless specified.
Cabling beyond the main house wall, including patios, fences, gates and detached buildings, is not included unless specified.

Additional charges may apply for:

Two-storey homes
Commercial premises
Longer travel distances
Difficult cable access
Concrete, double-brick or other construction requiring additional labour
Additional devices
Custom programming
Additional installation or commissioning work outside the standard package

If the project differs from the above assumptions, CustomLink will provide a quotation before work begins.
